Breastfeeding or bottle: the gear you actually need either way
Many parents-to-be buy everything in duplicate just in case, bottles and a nursing pillow at once. It's better to understand what actually helps based on your choice, and fill in the gaps later if needed.
For breastfeeding
- A nursing pillow, to ease your back during long feeds
- Disposable or washable nursing pads, against leaks
- A breast pump, useful even with exclusive breastfeeding as soon as you're away
For bottle feeding
- A steriliser, or a way to sterilise with boiling water
- A bottle warmer, handy at night but not essential
- Several bottles in different sizes, needs change fast in the first months
What helps either way
A pack of bibs, soft dim lighting for nighttime feeds, and a comfortable spot to settle into are useful whatever you choose.
Since this choice often becomes clearer after the birth, Kickoala lets you add to or adjust your registry at any time, even once the baby has arrived.
